The main motto for any visitor to a nature area is the simple “Leave only Footprints, Take only Pictures”

In South Africa, especially here on the coast, this can mean a very rewarding array of photographs.

The recent oil spill has drawn attention to the Goukamma Nature Reserve just down the coast from Noetzie (on the opposite side of Knysna) – this interesting article in the IOL travel section highlights the photogenic quality of the reserve which is now on the mend and features stunning photographs by photojournalist Scott Ramsey .

Further away in Cape Town the breaching Great White Sharks continue to attract international attention. Irish photographer, David Jenkins captured some amazing sunrise shots near Seal Island in July 2010 and you can read and see more in the NY Daily News article

Anyone that has visited Noetzie can tell you that this one photogenic beach. Here are a selection of photographs captured by Camilla Lindsay, of the famous Lindsay Castle,  during her stay this winter.
